In an ongoing effort to provide the most flexible and comprehensive payment protection program possible for our members, we are happy to announce a new product offering now available to you. MEMBER’S CHOICE^TM Borrower Security is a voluntary payment protection product that may cancel or suspend your loan payment should you experience an unexpected, protected life event.  Your purchase is optional and will not affect your application for credit or the terms of any credit agreement required to obtain a loan.

If a protected life event happens to you (and you’re a protected borrower or co-borrower on the loan), MEMBER’S CHOICE Borrower Security will cancel or reduce repayment of your loan debt—helping to lessen your worries, and your family’s worries, about paying loans during a time when your income may be reduced or lost and paying other household bills becomes challenging.

Protected events include:

• Loss of life, including those caused by acts of war
• Disability, including those caused by acts of war
• Involuntary unemployment

If you wish to change your existing payment protection coverage to MEMBER’S CHOICE Borrower Security, contact the Credit Union at 717.767.5551 and we’ll help you choose the protection package that best suits your needs. 

Keeping Your Current Coverage

As of June 1, 2010, we will no longer offer credit life and/or credit disability insurance on new loans.  If you do not contact us to convert your payment protection to MEMBER’S CHOICE Borrower Security, your existing credit life and/or credit disability insurance coverage, underwritten by CUNA Mutual Insurance Society, will remain in place until you repay, refinance, close your loan, or until the group policy is cancelled.
